The end of July and beginning of August have been a whirlwind of weightlifting competition for the New York Weightlifting Academy. The NYWA team ventured down to Valley Forge to compete under Senior International Coach March Chasnov at the second American Open Series. It was a great experience and definitely lots of learning for some of the newer lifters competing at a national stage. The team had a blast and we look forward to bringing more lifters to the series in the future.
NYWA @ The Connecticut Open
The following weekend, our lifters competed at the Connecticut Open under Coach Danny Casey. Everyone who participated made competition records as well as lifetime records. The New York Weightlifting Academy took home the awards for Best Women’s Team, Best Women’s Overall Master (Berta!), Best Men’s Team, as well as best Junior lifter going to Harry Lucas.
